COVID-19 Information Center

All the information you need regarding our response to the COVID-19 pandemic is located right here. Please keep in mind that a viral pandemic is a dynamic and volatile situation. We assess information from the CDC, State of Texas health officials, the local City of San Antonio Health Transition Team, and our community to make the best decisions we can to continue to serve our community well in body, mind, and spirit. Our decisions represent our best efforts to promote health and wellness as an organization; they do not represent expert opinion or reflect the nuance required for individual choices. You are your best health advocate. Please visit for source information and guidance on personal decisions.

Physical Services Have Resumed

SAF  returned to the sanctuary Nov. 1st, 2020.  Everyone is required to follow precautions to limit the spread of COVID-19 such as:
➡️ Temperature check and basic health/exposure questions at the door.
➡️ Masks worn at all times.
➡️  Social distancing.
➡️ Following usher/greeter directions.

It is our goal to provide the most meaningful service possible while continuing in a spirit of protection which is driven by love for God's people.  We will have outdoor areas for fellowship time, open before and after service.  At the door, each attendee may choose to wear a bracelet that indicates their level of comfort with being approached for conversation. And, we will continue online services.

Please see the pastor's letter below for more in depth descriptions of what to expect.

SAF has chosen a three factored approach to continuing church ministry in the midst of this pandemic. Despite the fact that this plan is being launched in response to the current crisis, the approach wasn't conceived of within the crisis. Instead, it is simply the tangible result of Vision 728, a vision for the future of SAF which had already called  us to pivot our attention and resources to serve and minister more to the community around us. The terrain has changed due to COVID-19, but the direction is the same. Join us for our fall ministry initiative "Acting In Faith 2020," based on Acts 20:20:
"You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house."

Fuse Student Ministries offers a robust program for students from elementary to high school. Fuse Kids meets virtually on Sundays at 9:30am and Fuse Youth meets in person outdoors in a socially distanced arrangement around a campfire on Sundays at 6pm.  Both programs offer distance and virtual opportunities for your student to keep engaged and grow their faith and knowledge of Jesus.
House churches will adhere to safety protocols determined by SAF based on the best current information regarding the spread of COVID-19. These protocols are outlined in details on the house church group page. Online small groups may be allowed to begin meeting with similar protocols at some point during the fall semester. Drive-in/Lawn events will also have procedures to promote health and safety including assigned parking, mask wearing, and limited restrooms. All attendees to in-person events will be expected to follow all protocols.

You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful
to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house.

Acts 20:20

It's not like this forever, but it right now.

- Ps. Matt Rice

“We find out at times like these how fragile all our man-made shelters are. Our steel is seen for what it is: candle wax kept from a flame all along only by God’s grace. We are as those who huddle beneath palm branches, bracing for a squall. But the Lord regards our humble estate.”
